Anthony "Tony" J. Bowerman

Anthony “Tony” J. Bowerman, 77, of Goshen, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Tony was born on October 20, 1947, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to George Nathan Bowerman and Laura Francis Irene McClure Bowerman. His spiritual rebirth and dedication to the Lord took place in the fall of 1971. A lifelong resident of Mayfield, Tony was known for his deep love for the Lord, his quiet and steady strength, and his unwavering devotion to his family and church community. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969, where he oversaw an artillery team. After returning home, Tony worked for many years in the paint shop at the University of Arkansas until his retirement. He was respected for his strong work ethic and dependability. Tony played a key role in the founding and ongoing ministry of the Land of Goshen Free Will Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon. He dedicated his life to serving others, and even after his passing on June 14, 2025, his legacy continued—on June 15, 2025, an individual was saved at Land of Goshen Free Will Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, Tony found peace and joy in nature. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or foraging for mushrooms, he cherished every opportunity to be outside. Just this year, he bagged his first turkey in years—a story he shared with a sparkle in his eye and a grin on his face. Above all, Tony was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Diann Bowerman; his sons and daughters-in-laws, Heath and Heather Bowerman, and Jeremy and Becky Bowerman; and his four grandchildren: Allie Bowerman, AJ Bowerman, Cady Crenshaw (spouse, Tommy Crenshaw), and Cooper Bowerman. Also dearly loved was Angel, his dog and self-proclaimed favorite grandchild, who brought him constant companionship and joy. Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew him—his family, friends, and church community. His legacy of quiet faith, love, brash humor, and heartfelt laughter will live on in all who were blessed to know him. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at Goshen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International to support the distribution of Bibles around the world and the sharing of the gospel—a cause close to Tony’s heart.
