Betty Jo "Mammaw" Counts. Mammaw passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, at her home in Alton, MO. She was 92 years young. She was a devoted homemaker who spent many years working for Allen Canning Company. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and a cherished friend. To know her was to love her. Mammaw had a heart of gold and a spirit of kindness that touched everyone she met. She found joy in the simple things in life, like spending time with family, watching animals, fishing, and enjoying her favorite western movies. Mammaw loved to shop! Enjoying lunch and shopping with family members was one of her favorite pastimes! Mammaw was a woman of unwavering faith, and she found comfort and strength in her relationship with God and her church family. She was a founding member of Fishback Baptist Church and later in life attended Lowell Freewill Baptist, and Colbaugh Baptist Church. She found peace and community in her places of worship. Mammaw's legacy lives on through her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will always carry her memory in their hearts. She was a pillar of strength and love, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Betty Jo "Mammaw" Counts is survived by her daughters, Barbara Harmon (Dennis) of Bentonville and Karen Morrison (Daniel) of Farmington; grandchildren, Jeff Barron, Janet Dills, John Barron, Ladonna Mills, Dustin Harmon, Jennifer Sharpshair, Jarod Morrison, and Brittney Holloway; great-grandchildren, Blake Barron, Katelyn Smith, Brett and Byron Ledgerwood, Dawson and Dylan Harmon, Grayson, Remington, Abigail Sharpshair, Scout and Sadie Morrison, Brooklynn, Trail, and Dani Claire Holloway; and five great-great-grandchildren. Siblings; Bob and Cecil Whittle, Mary Perryman and Christine Namdari. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Curtis Dean Counts; son, Larry Dean Counts; grandson, James Allen Barron; daughter, JoAnne Wade; brother, Floyd Whittle; sister, Gracie Willis and parents, Faye and Grace Whittle. Please join us in celebrating Mammaw's life at the funeral services at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, AR, on Saturday, June 22.
