Billy McDonald

Billy Charles McDonald, affectionately known as "Bubby" passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas . He was born July 3, 1941, the son of Oliver and Eva Lee McDonald. He was blessed and he was loved. During his life, he experienced that "the Lord was his strength and ever present help in time of trouble". He enjoyed serving the Lord at Elmdale Baptist Church where he was a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. He was a painting contractor for many years and enjoyed woodworking in his shop. One of his greatest pleasures was to coach his children and grandchildren. He coached many years of girls softball, tee ball, little league and senior babe ruth. He found great joy in recent years spending time with his grandkids and watching them in their school and athletic activities. Grandad had a great sense of humor and could recall a song, story or joke for almost any occasion. He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Two children, son Kirk McDonald and his wife Tina: and daughter Kerry Offenbacker and her husband Eric. The grandchildren include: Hayden McDonald, Ryne McDonald, Hattie McDonald, Ellyette McDonald, Kelsey Puckett and husband Micah, Kyler Offenbacker and Kord Offenbacker. He is also survived by two sisters, Ola Sue Summers and husband Bob of Berryville and Carol Jean Hittson and husband Jimmy of Pea Ridge. He will also be missed by a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Eva Lee McDonald, and infant brother Oliver Jr. Bubby will long be remembered for his love of the Lord and his family. A celebration of his life will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale, Arkansas with Revs. Tom Shaw and Larry Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at Gobbler Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the India Mission Program at Elmdale Baptist Church or the Global Mission Experience at Shiloh Christian School.
