Danny Mac Hobson

Danny Mac Hobson, 71, of Lowell, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at his home. Danny was born June 14, 1943 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Clyde Smith and Laura Lois Hobson. He grew up in California. He graduated from Kirby High School in 1961 and attended Henderson State University and University of Arkansas 1961-66. Danny worked in the food industry until retiring in October of 2000. He was employed by Don Carr Inc. of Cassville, Missouri from 1968 -1991 as a supervisor and part owner of multiple KFC stores in Arkansas, Missouri, and Florida. After retiring from KFC in 1991, he owned and operated a Texaco Food Mart in Rogers, Arkansas for about 10 years. His loves included fishing, reading, movies, traveling, attending gun and knife shows, NASCAR, and being an avid Razorback fan. He was a faithful believer in Christ. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his children and their unending projects that involved him using his love for building things with his hands, taking his grandchildren to see any new movie that came out, and running around with his dog Dixie at his side. Danny is preceded in death by his daughter, Caryn Hobson Pierce; his father, Clyde Hobson; two brothers, J.D. and Gene Hobson; and one sister, Delean Tedder. He is survived by his mother, Lois Hobson of Springdale; Judy Hobson of Springdale; daughter, Alice Hobson of Springdale; son and wife, Danny and Aimee Hobson of Rogers; six grandchildren, Caleb Anderson of Austin, Texas, Ty and Blake Anderson of Rogers, Austin and Sydney Pierce of Springdale, and Jack Baird of Springdale; Jerri McWaters of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews; former wife Jane Center; and his best friend, Dixie. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, October 23, from 6 to 8pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Graveside services will be Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2pm at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Caryn Hobson Pierce Memorial Scholarship fund in care of Judy Hobson, 2245 Cheyenne Trail, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
