David Russell Badgley

David Russell Badgley, age 79, of Rogers, Ark., passed away peacefully on Aug 31, 2024 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born Oct 17, 1944 in South Gate, Cal., and graduated from Hillcrest Senior High School in Springfield, Mo in 1962. He joined the army as a cook, got his Radiology Technologist degree from Southwest Missouri State College, and moved to Milwaukee, Wis. He settled in Northwest Arkansas in 1974 and opened his own A&W restaurant. He sold the restaurant in the early 90’s and worked as a Radiology Technologist at WRMC and the old St Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. He was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 47 and battled health issues related to that for the next 32 years. David was an avid golfer, a fabulous cook, a great poker player, loved his home by the lake, and was a loyal friend to many. He truly enjoyed helping those in need and cooking for his church for potluck dinners. He attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rogers, Ark and was a believer in God. He looked forward to the day he would meet his Heavenly Father. His health issues slowed him down over the years but they never changed his kind spirit. He believed there was a purpose for him on this earth and he enjoyed sharing the Word and his testimony to his caretakers. He always had a positive attitude and would say he had lived a great life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Evelyn Badgley, brother Dennis Badgley, great nephew Riley Strain, all of Missouri, and also his favorite lady companion Barbara Gasperetti from Rogers, Ark. He is survived by his daughters Lisa Cecil of Tontitown, Sherry Brondhaver of Rogers, grandchildren Parker Pollard, Will Pollard, Hope Pollard, Jackson Ruth and Lilly Brondhaver, sister Eilene (Wayne) Whiteid, nephew Chris (Michelle) Whiteid, nieces Heather (Jason) Cruise and Robin (Dan) Margerison, great niece Henley, and great nephews Micah and Elijah. A celebration of life will be held Sat Sept 21, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 12845 Walnut Valley Rd, Rogers AR 72756 at 10 am. Cremation services and arrangements were provided by Sisco Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the wonderful Circle of Life hospice house in Springdale, AR. He was blessed to be cared for by so many great doctors, nurses, caretakers and other staff. He is “right where he’s supposed to be” now. Fly high, Dad. We love and miss you so much already.
