Francis Lavern Johnson

On August 1, 1946, Francis Lavern Johnson was born to Vernon and Velma Johnson in Macedonia, Iowa. Being the second of two children he was raised with his elder sister, Verna, and graduated from Carson Macedonia High School in 1964. That fall he matriculated to Tarkio College in Missouri where he would double major in Education and History with a minor in Physical Education. It was during this time that Francis wed to Linda Allen in 1966 and from their union was blessed with 2 sons, Denny and David, and a daughter,Jacki. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts and Missouri Teacher Certification in 1968, Francis began teaching, serving as as assistant football and basketball coach, and working other various jobs to support his family. In 1982, after separating from Linda,Francis moved to Springdale, Arkansas where he began working for Kawneer and eventually rose to the position of Night Supervisor. While employed with Kawneer he met Margaret Robinson in 1989 and the two were wed in 1990. From this union Francis gained a daughter, Kimberly, and a son Tracey, whom he thought of and treated as his own. Throughout his life Francis was an avid Chicago Bears fan and had a tremendous love for dogs. His hobbies included collecting German Shepherd Figurines and collecting 18 wheeler truck models, and playing and watching golf. In the later part of his life his favorite pastime was simply enjoying the company of his wife and dog, Jennifer. Francis passed away August 14, 2016 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by: his wife of 26 years (Margaret), his sister and brother in law (Verna and Bob), his sons (Denny, David, and Tracey), his daughters (Jacki and Kimberly), his grandsons (Justin, Josh, Seth, Michael, Kevin and Daniel), his granddaughters,(Breann, Chloe, Carsyn, Regan, Lynae, and Sadie), and his great grandson (Jackson). The family would also like to recognize Francis’ caretaker (Angela) who brought him and his wife much joy and played a special role in Francis’ last months. Visitation is Friday August 19, 2016, 6pm till 8pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be Saturday August 20, 2016 at 10 am also at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Michael Robinson, Tana Todd, Gerald Todd, and Steve Martindale Officiating.
