Fredina Bell Collins

Fredina Bell Ditmore Collins, age 90, of Springdale, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1935, in Lefors, Texas, to Fred Lee Ditmore and Alga Robinson Ditmore. Later in life, her family moved to Huntsville, Arkansas, where she met the love of her life. At the young age of 16, she married Riley Collins, and as she always said, “they sort of grew up together.” And for 69 years, they did just that. Several years later, they settled down in Springdale, Arkansas, where they added a daughter, Rhonda, to complete their family. Fredina was a wonderful wife and homemaker and the best mother in the world. She loved to cook, sew, and move furniture around frequently. It was always dangerous walking through the living room at night; you never could remember where the furniture was. After her daughter began school, Fredina went to work for the Springdale School System for 11 years. Afterward, she helped Riley in the real estate office for several years before working for Walmart Corp. until her retirement. In 2023, signs of dementia began to take hold of her, and as the illness progressed, the family learned to be thankful for small moments, like her smile when she woke in the mornings, and never forgetting her faith in God or her prayers before she went to sleep. Fredina is survived by one daughter, Rhonda of Springdale; two sisters, Margie Ham and husband Buck of Forum, Arkansas, and Juanita Miller of Clifty, Arkansas; one brother, Steve Ditmore and wife Kay of Tyler, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Riley Collins; her parents, Fred and Alga Ditmore; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clint Ham, Collin Ham, Michael Ham, Gary Ditmore, Josh Gage, and Tommy Collins Jr. The family would like to extend a very special “thank you” to Circle of Life in Springdale for their great care and compassion.
