John Dwight Farmer

John Dwight Farmer, 84, departed this life Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born June 23, 1939 to Argie and Uta J. Farmer. Johnny was full of life and passionate about family. For every holiday and birthday celebration, he was fully present. For most of his life, he was married to his love, Charlotte, until she passed. They spent many years raising their boys and loving life. In later life, he constructed a new house in Fayetteville with his back deck close enough to the pond to fish from. Being a nature lover, he has spent hours feeding the ducks, doting on man’s best friend, Mater and giving his neighbors a hard time. His love of nature took him to the old Farmer homestead in Newton county where he hiked and toured around family and friends. Johnny was the familial historian and filled the lives of those around him with knowledge to maintain the family memories. Johnny had the ability to remember stories and dates from long ago; and if he didn’t remember, he might make it up! He was an avid fisherman, collector of antiques and lover of good times. Johnny met with friends regularly at McDonald’s to solve the world’s problems and drink as much coffee as he could. Johnny was known to be a caretaker and it was a natural role for him to assume. He cared for many family members throughout the years and happily did so. He was preceded in death by his mother Uta J Farmer; father, Argie Farmer; wife, Charlotte Farmer; brothers Kenneth Farmer and William A. Farmer, and grandson Baine Farmer. Survivors of Johnny Farmer include sons Eric Farmer and wife Magaly of Merida, Mexico; Phillip Farmer and wife Tracey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Mark Farmer and wife Angie of Elm Springs, Arkansas. Grandchildren Sarah Farmer of Bentonville; Amber Dexter and husband Nolan of Lincoln; Brittney Hutchings of Warrensburg, MO; Taylor Mcneir of Santa Rosa, FL; David Farmer and wife Bethany of Farmington; Blake Farmer and wife Olivia of Broken Arrow; Cameron Balusek of Bentonville; Colton Nations of Gentry. Great-grandchildren to include: Braxton Farmer of Bentonville; Peyton and Abbie Dexter of Lincoln; Rayleigh Cox, Ryker and Reagann Hutchings of Warrensburg, MO; Madalynn, Grayson, and Millie Farmer of Farmington; Kynlee, Beau and Ruby Farmer of Broken Arrow, OK; Benton Farmer of Bentonville. Sister-in-law Arlene Farmer of Rogers; Nephews Kenny Farmer and wife Dorothy of Rogers; and Ronnie Farmer and wife Renee of Rogers; Great-nephews Kale Farmer, wife Stephanie and children of Bentonville and Jake Farmer and wife Becca of Bentonville. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10am at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Bill Hooten officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
