Larry L Clinkscales age 84, of Springdale, AR, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Ritter Wilmoth, stepfather Burley Wilmoth, and son-in-law Walter White. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly, and his children Larry and Judy Clinkscales II, Bryan Clinkscales, Kevin and Krys Clinkscales, and Ashley White. His stepchildren Greg and Krystle Smith, and Andrea and Jason Doss. His grandchildren Matthew Clinkscales, Jason Clinkscales, Dalton Clinkscales, Cade Clinkscales, Kaitlyn Howerton, Mason Clinkscales, Hannah Clinkscales, Zane Clinkscales, Blake Williams, Kynleigh Phillips, Mat Dillion, Dakota Smith, Dylan Smith, Slade Smith, Rowan Smith, Chase Doss, Taylor Ayers, Garrett Doss and his seventeen great-grandchildren. Larry was born March 29, 1940, in Olney, IL and moved to Springdale, AR when he was 6 months old. He was a graduate of Springdale High School, class of 58, and Fayetteville Business College. At 19 years old, Larry began his career in insurance at North American Guarantee. Partnering in 1975 with Joe "Sandy" Boone and James Ritter at Boone-Ritter Insurance, where he retired in 2002. Hardworking and dedicated, Larry was a successful insurance agent for 63 years and served on the Board of Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas. Larry honorably served in the Arkansas National Guard and the Springdale Community. He served on the Springdale Water and Sewer Commission and the Civil Service Commission. He also served as president of the Springdale United Fund, the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary Club, where he received the Paul Harris Fellow award. A member of FUMC since his move to Springdale, AR, Larry’s faith in Christ from an early age never wavered. Larry loved spending time with family and friends. Family vacations, sharing his passion for baseball with his children, attending events for his grandchildren, or going for a walk with friends Ken Galloway and Sam Weathers, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. Larry passes on a legacy of character, faith, and love to all blessed to know and love him. Services will be held in the chapel at First United Methodist Church in Springdale, AR, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Rev. Audie Long and interred in Bluff Cemetery.
