Max Glenn Parsons

Max Glenn Parsons, 95, of Springdale, Arkansas, entered his eternal home on July 22, 2026. He was born October 23, 1930, to Thurman Jefferson “Shorty” Parsons and Mary Inez Sisco. Glenn graduated from Springdale High School in 1948 and earned a degree in poultry science from Oklahoma A&M in 1951. In May of 1951, he married Alma Ione Curry. They were married 60 years until Alma’s passing in 2011. He is survived by children Rick Parsons (Carolyn), of Springdale, Sue Taylor (Lonnie), of Springdale, Rocky Parsons (Lisa), of Rogers, and Gina Pritchard of Sulphur Springs, Texas. “Pop” is survived by 17 grandchildren: Luissa Boyer, Suzanna Reed, Tiffany Lopez, Wade Parsons, Luke Parsons, Emily Lewis, Ellen Aufleger, Marcus Parsons, Hannah Reynerson, Laura Parsons, Neal Parsons, Jane Arnold, Jordin Early, Joel Parsons, Jozi Williams, Jake Parsons, and Grace Pritchard. He also has 29 great-grandchildren: Ella Boyer, Cole Boyer, Kyle Boyer, Lyla Boyer, John Reed, David Reed, Oliver Lopez, Isabella Lopez, Ian Lopez, Vera Parsons, Ruth Parsons, William Lewis, Bo Lewis, James Lewis, Gwyneth Aufleger, Evelyn Aufleger, Abigail Aufleger, Raylynn Parsons, Holt Parsons, Robbie Reynerson, Cora Reynerson, David Reynerson, Porter Santelmann, Curry Santelmann, Reace Early, Peyton Early, Caroline Williams, Lucas Williams, and Rylee Williams. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Hutter. He is survived by a brother, Harold (Delores) and a sister, Brenda Lazenby. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Glenn will be remembered most for the way he engaged with people, loved and served family, and shared his faith. Glenn taught Sunday School for many years and he and Alma led small group bible studies in their home. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church of Springdale at the time of his death. Glenn enjoyed visiting with all people of all generations and all walks of life. As far as anyone knows he never met a stranger. He had a genuine interest in people and curiosity about what was important to them. Pop often asked people about their eternal destiny, and when someone seemed unsure, he was quick to share the good news of Jesus with kindness and conviction. He was generous to many and supported many ministries with his time and resources. His primary focus was his family, and he encouraged them in their growth and maturity, especially in their faith, marriages, parenting, and personal endeavors. The grandchildren have many fond memories of time and adventures spent with Pop and Nannie at their home, especially on Wednesdays when Nannie wanted everyone there. The adventures became even more frequent when they went with Pop on his many work-related errands, meetings, and explorations. It may be safe to say now that Pop was not always fully compliant with seat belt and car seat regulations. No one ever, ever left Pop and Nannie’s house hungry, and Pop often took the grandchildren wherever they wanted to eat in town. One of his favorite places for feeding everyone, and we mean everyone, was the NWA Mall Food Court. There were plenty of choices, so everyone could get what they wanted, and Pop could see people at the mall and visit with them while eating with his children and grandchildren. And of course, we must mention AQ Outback and 99-cent family night. Ask the grandkids about any of this, and you will hear many stories about eating with Pop and Nannie. The family will receive visitors at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale from 11 AM until 1 PM on Saturday, July 25. The visitation will be immediately followed by a memorial service at Sisco Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of the following ministries: Fellowship Bible Church of Springdale, OSU Baptist Collegiate Ministries, Family Life Today, or The Gideons International.
