Mildred Sera Roberts

We lost our beloved mother and grandmother, Mildred Sera Roberts, on December 10, 2022. She was born in October of 1942 in Spring Valley, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nile and Rachel Phillips, her sister, Virginia Foster, her brothers, Lee Phillips, Gaylon Phillips, Earl Phillips, Gene Phillips, Frank Phillips, Scottie Phillips, her dear cousin, Clyde Bowlin. She is survived by her children, Dana Sera, son, Cynthia Sera, daughter, Kim Sera, daughter-in-law, Skylar Sera, granddaughter, Brighton Wilson, grandson, and brother, Cecil Phillips. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including, Robbie and Greeley Phillips and Kelly Phillips Collins. Our hearts are broken with her passing for she was not ready to leave us anymore than we were ready to let her go. For those of you who knew my mother, you may remember all the wonderful holidays that were spent at the Sera house. When we were little, our house transformed into a winter wonderland. Our beautifully decorated tree had many perfectly wrapped presents stuffed underneath. Christmas Eve dinner was an especially joyous time. When we were children, many relatives would gather at our house to eat an amazing holiday feast, visit, open presents, and just spend time with each other. Over the years, the amount of people grew less and less, but my mother never stopped decorating for Christmas. We will surely miss our sweet mother this Christmas and in all the days to come. The Buddha says, “Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it,” and that’s exactly what my mother did. Her greatest accomplishments were us. She gave her whole heart and soul to caring for us and guiding us. She was so proud of all of us. We have peace knowing that she knew how much she was loved, and that we all felt very loved by her. No one ever loves you like your mother and grandmother do. It is simply immeasurable and unconditional. And now, God has a new angel and mom has new wings. The last words I heard my mom say was, “Oh Lord,” and I’m reminded of this verse “Remember, no matter what you face in Life, don’t let go of God’s Hand.” My mother was deeply connected to her beliefs and we know she’s found eternal peace.
