Roy Joseph Yeakley Sr

Roy Joseph Yeakley, Sr., a resilient soul with a heart of courage, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the age of 73, at Meadowview Health and Rehab in Huntsville. He was born on February 8, 1950, in San Jose, California, to his loving parents, Lloyd and Vera Nelson. Roy's journey was marked by unwavering dedication and service. He proudly served his country as a valiant member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where his bravery earned him the prestigious Purple Heart. Roy's commitment extended beyond his military service, as he dedicated an impressive 39 years of his life to Easco Hand Tools, leaving an indelible mark on the company. Faith played a significant role in Roy's life, and he attended Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville. His spirit was truly free in the great outdoors, where he found solace and joy in the art of hunting and fishing. Roy was also a passionate collector of coins and a history enthusiast, eagerly sharing his knowledge with anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Roy is now reunited with his loved ones who preceded him in death, including his beloved parents, Lloyd and Vera Nelson, as well as four brothers: John Yeakley, George Yeakley, Eugene Yeakley, and Omar Yeakley. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories for those who survive him. Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Joan Tomlinson Yeakley, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He is also survived by his two sons, Robert Yeakley of Springdale and Roy Yeakley, Jr., and his wife Stephanie of Springdale, along with his daughter, Renee Johnson of Springdale. Roy's memory lives on through his two sisters, Gloria Coats and Adah Creek, both residing in Kansas. A celebration of Roy's life will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the Fayetteville National Cemetery, a fitting tribute to a true patriot.
