Betty Faddis Watson Thomas

June 20, 1929 - August 9, 2019

Betty Faddis Watson Thomas, 90, of Springdale, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2019. Born Betty Jean Faddis on June 20, 1929, in Qualls, OK, Betty was the daughter of James Thomas Faddis and Mary Ella Burke Faddis. She was the seventh of eight siblings and grew up in Huntsville, AR. Betty married Stanley Watson in September of 1953. They had three children, Tom, Jeff, and Mary Jane. Stanley and Betty operated Watson’s Furniture and Appliance, and Betty continued to operate Watson’s after Stanley’s death in 1973. In February 1977, Betty married Clyde Thomas of Benton, AR. Betty maintained homes both in Benton and Springdale and continued to operate Watson’s until 2014. Betty is survived by her three children, Tom Watson and wife Terry of Allen, TX, Jeff Watson of Springdale, and Mary Jane Ragsdale of Sulphur, LA; six grandchildren, Sarah Watson Hayward and husband Mike of Frisco, TX, John Watson and wife Kara of Charlottesville, VA, Stan Watson of Springdale, Claire Watson Lawson and husband Drew of Springdale, Melanie Ragsdale Woods of Ozone, and Drew Ragsdale of Clarksville. Betty is also survived by six great grandchildren. Betty loved to travel and was an avid bridge player. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale, a lifetime member of PEO, and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Betty was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend to all. Her family was her pride and joy, and they will carry her legacy of love, faithfulness, and grace with them forever. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation, www.broylesfoundation.org, to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, or Circle of Life Hospice www.nwacircleoflife.com Visitation will be held at 9:30 am with her Memorial Service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 13th at First United Methodist Church of Springdale.
