David Arthur Burger Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David “Grover” “Yahoo” Arthur Burger- an impassioned father, son, uncle, friend, and teammate- passed away on June 11th, 2022 at the age of 53 during a rugby game in Springfield, Missouri. David was born to Steve Burger and Becky McMullen in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 16th, 1968. He graduated from Springdale High School in 1986 before enlisting in the United States Air Force and working in the International Ballistic Missile known as Minutemen III. In 1990 he attended and graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics as an aircraft engineer. . He worked a myriad of jobs, including financial advising, selling life insurance, aircraft engineering at OAS, tower climbing, and working at GLAD manufacturing. David always had a side passion project or business idea that he passionately worked on and cared about. David met his first wife Diane Morrison in 1991, who welcomed their first daughter Elizabeth Burger in 1999, and their second daughter, Karen Burger, in 2002. Out of all descriptors that could be assigned to David, father fits him best. He loved and cared for his two daughters with intense and fervent articulation, always giving all his time and attention to ensuring their happiness and prosperity. Through the years, David loved sports in every capacity. He was in gymnastics in high school, played recreational softball in his adult life, worked as a softball umpire periodically, played disc golf with his sister and brother-in-law, and played rugby with the Arkansas Gryphons Rugby Club. He loved watching all sports, and constantly kept up with both college and professional basketball, baseball, and football. His favorite teams were the Arkansas Razorbacks, The Atlanta Braves, The New Orleans Saints, and the Green Bay Packers. David passed due to cardiac arrest caused by an unknown underlying heart condition. He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth and Karen Burger, his mother Beck McMullen, his father Steve Burger, his sisters Angie Burger and Mary Workman, his nephews Zachary and Cody Workman, and his nieces Alyshia and Katie. David was loved by all around him; he spent his entire life cracking jokes to make people laugh, even if it was at his own expense. His funeral service will be Monday, June 27th 2022 at Sisco Funeral Chapel at 11am. His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate David’s life in the way he would like to be remembered; sharing stories and laughing together about the funny and loving man they all knew.
