Mildred Marie Burton Aaron

April 14, 1930 - August 16, 2021

Mildred Marie Burton Aaron was born on April 14, 1930 in McCloud, California to Eston Ray Burton and Florence Sturgess Burton. McCloud was at that time an old-fashioned company town located in the Cascade Mountain Range and Eston worked for the company in the timber business. Mom always thought it was a wonderful place to grow up and frequently talked of her childhood there. The family moved to a small farm outside Butterfield, Missouri after World War II when Mom was in high school. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1948 and moved to the nearby town of Cassville, Missouri where she worked for the local State Senator in his insurance agency. It was there that she met Jack Aaron whom she married in March 1949. They had two children while living in Cassville, then in 1962 the family moved to Springdale, Arkansas. Mom was active in the community and sang in a church quartet for several years. She was very creative and won ribbons for her handwork. A few years after Dad’s passing, Mom moved to Little Rock where she immediately became active at Parkway Place Baptist Church. While in Little Rock, she took up knitting and made numerous scarves, caps, baby blankets, and lap blankets for local hospitals, mission organizations, and cancer treatment centers. In 2017, with both kids now in Northwest Arkansas, Mom returned to old friends and familiar territory. At the time of her death, she was a member at First Baptist Church of Lowell. As mom’s health failed, she frequently talked of going to Heaven and her family is encouraged by the faith in her Lord and Savior that shined through in her last days. Mom passed away on Monday August 16, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and her beloved sisters Anna Ruth Poore and Ruby Bradford. She is survived by her brother Gail (Bonnie) Burton of Vienna, Virginia, son Gary (Jutta) Aaron of Bentonville, Arkansas, and daughter Kimberly (Dean McGee) also of Bentonville. Services will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Burial will be at Spring Creek Cemetery. Gary Thomas will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s hospital, one of mom’s favorite organizations or a local nonprofit organization.
