February 10, 1953 - December 30, 2013

Nelse Walter Petermann Jr., 60, of Springdale, passed away Monday December 30th 2013.
He was born to the late Norma and Nelse Petermann on February 10, 1953, in Powell Wyoming.

Nelse was a loving father and faithful friend and will be missed dearly by those left behind. He loved working with his hands. He spent the majority of his life and career in construction building homes. He was a diligent worker and kind hearted man. It was a blessing to know and be loved by him.

He is survived by two children: Luke Petermann and Melanie Justus of Springdale. He is also survived by one grandchild: Jadin Justus.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday the 11th of January at the 412 Annex in Springdale. Located behind the ONYX Coffee Lab at 7058 West Sunset Avenue, Springdale, AR 72762.

Nelse and I went through the Kennewick school system together, and in the 5th and 6th grades we were best friends, inseparable at school and often visiting at each other's houses. We graduated together and then by chance met up again at University of Washington, where I recognized him from across the quad and hailed him as an old friend from our home town. We sat and talked for an hour. I never saw him again, but I've always carried him in my heart as one of the best, kindest, and most fun friends I have ever had. I know his sister Pam and his brothers Marty and Danny, and to all of you, I'm very, very sorry for your loss. To me, Nelse will always be a wonderful friend and a model of what a straight-up, strong, honest, and true man should be. The world is diminished by his passing. I found out about my brother's death on April 8, 2014. I am saddened by his premature departure and only the Lord knows the reason. I will miss him. There are many dear and delightful childhood memories growing up together on farms in Powell, Wyoming and Kennewick, Washington. He carried the family name well and I was proud to be his sister. May Melanie and Luke carry on his strong qualities of devoted friendship, athleticism, diligence, thriftiness, adventure, love of country and God I pray.
