February 23, 1928 - October 28, 2020
Vivian Louise Brock, February 23, 1928 - October 28, 2020 Born youngest of four daughters to Charles and Sallie Mae (Rainwater) Hickman in Tulsa, OK, she passed away peacefully on October 28 in Springdale, Ark at 92. She was preceded in death by her birth family; husband and father of her three children Carl Wiggins; second husband Lewis Brock; youngest son Ron Wiggins. She is survived by oldest son Steve Wiggins; daughter Kaye Bell and husband Bob Andrist; daughter in love Libby Wiggins; beloved only granddaughter Alyson Reaves and husband Pat; great granddaughters Vivian, Ronabel and Claudiann Reaves. Vivian married her childhood sweetheart Carl Wiggins in 1945 and they started their family early. She liked to say she grew up with her kids. Unfailingly optimistic and creative through good and bad times Vivian always saw possibilities for hope. She made every house a home and was there to encourage and support her family with unconditional love. She and Carl divorced after 25 plus years. Being single with no kids at home anymore, VIvian embarked on a journey toward sharing her talents with others. A self taught artist with a great love of music and theatre Vivian held the position of illustrator and ad department heads at Dillard’s and John A. Brown. She enjoyed performing in the olio at Tulsa Little Theatre. All along the way as a mother she brought music and art and “seeking” to her own kids as well as mentoring others. Vivian was courted by, fell in love, and married Lewis Brock in 1979. Making their life in Eureka Springs, Ark. She found yet more ways to create and serve. She and Lewis were encouraged to get involved with the DAV, which both did with passion. Lewis was an ex-POW with health issues related to his service. Vivian led tours through Miles Musical Museum where she demonstrated the antique instruments with quite theatrical flair. Active in local politics and social groups their all too short time together ended with Lewis passing in 1989. Vivian single again, pursued activities that fulfilled her: time with family, local democratic women’s group; volunteer fire department and co-founder of Eureka Theatre Company where she acted, directed, and held board positions. Vivian lived her last two years at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab in Springdale where she was cared for lovingly by staff and visited by family often. Her fierce loyalty, unwavering optimism and courage remain a beacon for those of us who knew and loved her. Peace, Mama. In memory of Vivian we hope you’ll sing a song, look for all the possibilities and as she would say “surround yourself with a white light.”
