William James Reed

April 30, 1937 - June 6, 2022

William James Reed, 85 of Fayetteville passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born April 30, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Nelson Tinsley Reed and Cecile Koen Reed. If the measure of a man is determined by his love of motors and making other people laugh, Jim was triumphantly successful. He began racing cars as soon as he could drive and continued to visit the drag strip and car shows into his later years. His latest project involved restoring his beloved 1968 Mustang GT. Friends and family knew to be on guard-on when in his presence because you never knew when the next prank would come. No one was a stranger to Jim as he loved starting conversations and getting to know anyone with whom he came in contact. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Nelson Tinsley Reed; mother, Cecile Koen Reed; brother, Wayne Nelson Reed, and his youngest son Brian Scott Reed He is survived by his wife Camelia Reed; one daughter, Therese (Bob) Trauner of Wheaton, IL; three sons, Michael (Angie) Reed of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Eric (Jeni) Reed of Garfield, Arkansas, and Aaron (Kristine) Reed of Prosper, Texas; one daughter in law Marcy Reed (wife of Brian Reed) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 2pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Audie Long officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Circle of LIfe Northwest Arkansas www.nwacircleoflife.com
