Wilma Marie Barbee

Wilma Marie Barbee, 94 of Springdale passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Springdale. She was born October 15, 1927 in Madison, Illinois to Cecil and Erma Bruce Jones. After receiving the honor of Salutatorian from her graduating class in Clinton, Arkansas, Wilma worked as a secretary at Walker Brothers Insurance. While working at Walker Brothers she met her future husband, Roy Barbee who was a mail carrier. They were married for 58 years. She was a bookkeeper at her father’s business, Jones Recapping. She worked as a payroll clerk for the City of Springdale in the City Clerk's office. Wilma was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale for over 70 years where she was an active member. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge for many years achieving life masters status. Wilma was very caring and loving to her family and her granddaughters were the joy of her life. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy Barbee and her son, Cecil Fredrick Barbee. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Harris Collins and husband Rick of Springdale; two grandchildren, Lauren Wright and husband Shawn of Rogers and Lane Coleman and husband Will of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren, Caden Coleman, Grayson and Keaton Wright. Funeral services will be Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10am at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Pastor Danny Redding officiating. Private burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. No visitation is planned.
