Barbara Ann Hayes

Barbara Ann Hayes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 in Fayetteville, AR. She was born on July 12, 1941, the daughter of Frank Harris and Modene Arnold Harris. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her infant baby Rufus Lee, her sisters Dana Murphy, Helen Elliott, and Myrrah Mueller, as well as her son-in-law Eddie Clark and numerous other friends and family members. Although she is no longer with us, her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 66 years, John Robert Hayes Sr “J.R.” Their marriage was a testament to the power of love, commitment, and unwavering support. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and endless memories. Barbara was a waitress for a large part of her working life but ultimately found the most fulfillment in her years of babysitting in her home to many children with whom she formed lifelong relationships. She also spent several years assisting her husband with his Towing business, JR’s Wrecker Service. Barbara is survived by her daughter Robin Clark of Berryville, AR, and her son John Robert Hayes Jr, affectionately known as "Doc," and his wife Roxanne of Elkins, AR. She was a source of strength and guidance to her children, teaching them the values of love, compassion, and resilience and the love of Jesus. She will forever be remembered as a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren. Barbara's love extended beyond her immediate family to her 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2pm at the Sisco Funeral Chapel on West Meadow Avenue in Springdale, AR. It is a time for family, friends, and loved ones to come together to celebrate Barbara's life and mourn her passing. Visitation will begin at 12pm on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Willard Walker Hospice House, located at 335 E Longview St., Fayetteville, AR 72703.
