Betty Lois Graham Shrum

Betty Lois Graham Shrum, 83, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, under the compassionate care of hospice at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows Assisted Living. Born on December 14, 1942, in Springdale, Arkansas, Betty was the daughter of Gilbert and Leona Graham. She spent her entire life in the community she loved, graduating from Springdale High School before beginning her career as a keypunch operator for Daisy BB Gun. She worked there until retiring in 1980. Betty’s life was marked by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for her family. She and her beloved husband, Jerry, shared 61 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on family, love, and serving others. To her family, she wasn’t just Betty—she was “Grand,” a name spoken with love and one she treasured deeply. She was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved most. Whether attending family cookouts, cheering at dirt-track races, watching NASCAR, or enjoying shopping trips with Rhonda and Emily, Betty found joy in sharing life’s simple moments with those she loved. Grand was known for putting others first. If someone needed help, she was there without hesitation. Her generous heart and cheerful spirit made everyone feel loved and cared for. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Emily, and later with her great-granddaughters, Aubree and Ember. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Leona Graham; and her sister, Wanda Bivins of California. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Shrum; her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Bobby Paschal; her granddaughter, Emily Jones; her great-granddaughters, Aubree and Ember Paschal; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Arkansas, under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel. The title Betty cherished most was “Grand.” It was a name that reflected the love she gave so freely and the joy she found in her family.
