Donny Wayne Shipp

Donny Wayne Shipp, age 71, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on June 25, 2025, in Fayetteville. He was born June 25, 1954, in Springdale to John and Rosalea (Brannon) Shipp. Donny was the owner and operator of an insulation contracting business and spent his working life in the trades. A lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, he was known for his kindness, gentleness, and a joy-filled spirit that radiated to everyone around him. He carried no ill intentions and lived without selfish motives. Simply put, Donny wanted to see others doing well and enjoying life. He was always full of laughter, stories, and good company—and he certainly had stories to tell. Time spent with him was marked by warmth, laughter, and ease. You left every visit feeling better than you did when you arrived. He had a deep love for his friends and family, and this was the essence of who he was. There was nothing more important to Donny than gathering with those he loved. His weekends were spent making rounds, visiting family, sharing meals, and creating memories. Donny had a pure reverence for the Lord and the words in red. He lived with an appreciation for the natural world and enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved tinkering, music and dancing, driving dirt roads, fishing, hunting, drag races, and camping. He was preceded in death by his father, John Shipp. Donny is survived by his children: Johnny Shipp and wife Linda of Siloam Springs; Shane Shipp of Springdale; Terri Eaton and her partner Cole Williams of Combs; and Amanda Shipp of Elkins. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Alicia Harrell of Springdale. He is survived by his mother, Rosalea Shipp of Colcord, Oklahoma; his brother, Danny Shipp and wife Lanell of Springdale, Arkansas; and his sister, Kathy Eldridge and husband Carl of Colcord, Oklahoma. He was a proud grandfather to Nathan Shipp, Jason Whelpley, Noah Shipp, Ryan Shipp, Adrian Shipp, Aden Fenton, Jediah Fenton, Jayven Fenton, Aurora Fenton, Kade Eaton, Elli Eaton, Jaxon Eaton, Jaden Thoummany, Kyran Atkinson, and Cheyenne Harrell. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Larry Clay officiating. The family will receive friends for an open-casket visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The casket will be closed prior to the start of the service at 11:00 a.m. Please note that public viewing will take place only during visitation hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10:30 am at Fayetteville National Cemetery with Military Honors.
