Judie Muniz

Judie Muniz, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at her home on October 19th, 2023 at the age of 53. Judie was born in Denver on May 14th, 1970 to Jerome and Mary Jane. She lived in Brighton, CO the majority of her life, as well as attended school there. It was in Brighton that she met Michael and married him in Oregon in 1988. They settled in Brighton and she dedicated her time to provide for the family. Judie was fiercely protective of her family. She had a spirit and a fight about her. She always supported her children with everything they did and loved to attend school events for them big and small. She loved her chihuahuas, especially Spankee, and spoiled them. She loved to sing, stargaze and absolutely loved the Dallas Cowboys. When she moved to Arkansas, she worked at a local hospital and met Dwayne, her significant other of 10 years. They settled in Springdale and had 4 cats who she adored, especially Bossey. Above all else, Judie was devoted to her grandchildren. She loved them more than anything and her favorite moments in life were spending time with them. She always thought about them and did everything she could to make every birthday and holiday great for them. She got diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer on October 27th, 2017 and fought with everything she had to watch her grandchildren grow up and graduate high school. The last years of her life showed just how strong of a fighter she was. Judie is preceded in death by her husband, Michael; her son, Michael Jr; and her nephew Johnny. She is survived by her parents, Jerome and Mary Jane; her significant other, Dwayne; her children: Michaela (Creg), Victor (Stephanie), Tina (Carlos), and Del Ray (Christina). As well as her grandchildren: Lexi, Dexter, Jase, Eli, Vera, Lyric, Desteny and 4 great grandchildren: Milani, Brielle, Joaquin and Lyric. Judie is also survived by her sisters, Jody (Damian) and Katrina (Will). Other survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins and her godmother Kathy.
