Leon Zulpo

Leon Ralph Zulpo (Mr. Tontitown), 82, of Tontitown died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Fayetteville. He was born February 10, 1928 to Adolph and Theresa Sbanotto Zulpo. He was a business owner in Tontitown since 1955, owning and operating his own Service Station, Leon's Car Wash, and the Tontitown Z Mart, Inc., where he has been a partner with his son Mike for the last 20 years. He also farmed. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, member of St. Joseph's Cemetery Committee, Eucharistic Minister, Chairman of the Tontitown Grape Festival, Served 46 years as a councilman for the City of Tontitown, he also help organize the Tontitown Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as a board member, volunteer fireman and held the position of Captain and Assistant Chief. Leon also served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sally Verucchi Zulpo, a brother Jack Zulpo, and two sisters, Zelma Sabatini, and Mabel Aaron. Survivors include four sons, Adolph Zulpo and wife Debbie of Springdale, Doug Zulpo of Bentonville, Mike Zulpo and wife Toni of Tontitown, and Ben Zulpo of Fayetteville; four daughters, Linda Folladori and husband Jay of Ponta Vedra Beach, FL, Laura Reagan and husband Pete of Fayetteville, Lydia Bolen and husband Dick of Siloam Springs, and Lisa Clayton and husband Mike of West Fork; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; one sister Antoinette Pianalto and husband Richard of Springdale; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 5 to 7pm. Rosary services will follow at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 24 at 10a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tontitown with Fr. Joe Marconi officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Folladori, Nathan Zulpo, Brian Reagan, Brad Reagan, Dustin Clayton, Dylan Clayton. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Rexford, Duane Atha, Riley Tessaro, Henry Piazza, Todd Witzigman. Memorial may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O.
