Linda Jane Allen

Linda Jane Allen, age 80, passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born Linda Jane Goodlett on November 1, 1945, in Snyder, TX, to Viah and Reuben Goodlett. Linda grew up in Snyder before moving to the Mason Valley/Highfill area in 1953. She graduated from Decatur High School and then attended an X-ray technician program at Sparks Memorial Hospital in Ft. Smith. Later, she married her high school sweetie, Carl Lee, after he returned home from Vietnam in 1966. Always the loving, supportive, loyal wife, she gave him three children, all of whom survive them: Zeke and his children Zebediah and Rosalie; Zane and his child Alyssa, along with his granddaughter Zara; and April Jane. Carl and Linda had a hog and grape farm, which led to a lot of extended family time together. They sold their Concord grapes to Welch's. Linda had two of her three children in the heat of August during grape season. Linda not only took care of the kids and the home, but she also sewed, gardened, grew flowers, and tended to the grapes–including trimming, tying, harvesting, and juicing. She was a very hard worker, just like her beloved Mother. Linda returned to work at Springdale Memorial Hospital, now Freeman Health, in the early '80s and remained until her retirement in 2012. She enjoyed her co-workers, who were like family. She was an X-ray, CT, MRI, and Special Procedures Tech; however, Linda also served as the clinical instructor for the School of Radiology and performed fluoroscopic imaging during surgeries. She also worked at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Bates and St. Mary's Hospitals throughout her career. She survived breast cancer in 1992, after a diagnosis in which she was only given six weeks to live. Linda was tough and determined to survive; she used her opportunity, while caring for other cancer patients, to inspire hope and encourage faith. Linda was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. She followed her mother's footsteps and taught Vacation Bible School after retirement, and was very active in her Mother and Daddy's church in Mason Valley. She had a big heart; Linda loved her family. She was the fourth of six siblings. She adored her grandchildren and wanted to spend as much time as possible showing them how much she loved them. As for her children, she was ready to help in any way at a moment's notice. She never failed to vocalize her love and care for each one. Linda and Carl divorced in 1993, but to her, her vows were 'til The End. She deeply mourned his loss in 2021, but longed for that heavenly place she'd find him and the others that had gone before — after reuniting with her beloved puppy, Anna, at the rainbow bridge. Despite whatever life threw at her, she chose forgiveness, faith and love, again and again. Linda was loving and loved. Linda’s absence will be felt for a long time, with treasured memories of her pretty eyes, infectious smile, laughter, and her love of life. We lost an amazing human being. She loved God’s paintbrush of flowers so much she couldn’t ever choose just one favorite. In her memory, please plant flowers, enjoy time outside, and spend time with people you love. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 2-4 pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 4 pm. There will be no public graveside services, as Linda requested a private, intimate burial ceremony.
