Monnie Lou Martin

Monnie Lou Martin, lovingly known to all as "Nanny," entered the presence of her Savior on July 29, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on August 11, 1933, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to Wardie and Minnie Grubb, Monnie lived a life defined by unwavering faith, hard work, and an immeasurable love for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers and one sister; her beloved husbands, Charles Francis Goodman and later Allen E. Martin; three sons-in-law and one daughter-in-love; and one granddaughter, Jennifer D. Smith. Monnie worked well into her 80s, believing there was always something to do and someone to care for. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or simply showing up, she made sure those she loved always knew they mattered. She is survived by her four children: Donna Winters of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Rhonda Trolinger of Springdale, Arkansas; Charlene Goodhart of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and Tony Goodman of Springdale, Arkansas; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue carrying her love and legacy for generations to come. To her family, she wasn't simply a grandma — she was Nanny, the heart of the family. Nothing brought Nanny greater joy than her family. Whether she was cheering on the Razorbacks a passionate "couch coach," watching her grandsons play football, attending orchestra and choir concerts and dance programs, soothing a baby in her arms, or serving her famous noodles, banana cake, and Boston Apple Pie, she made every moment together special. She also had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley and loved to watch his movies! Above all else, Monnie loved the Lord. Her personal relationship with Jesus shaped the way she lived—with kindness, humility, grace, and a steadfast love for others. She was gentle, compassionate, and fiercely devoted to her family, and even had a little bit of sass mixed in. She prayed faithfully, loved deeply, and created a home where everyone felt welcomed and cherished. While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice knowing she is now whole, at peace, and reunited with loved ones in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy lives on in every recipe shared, every family gathering, every whispered prayer, and every life she touched with her quiet faith and unconditional love. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." — Proverbs 31:28 A funeral service will take place Wednesday, August 5th at Lakeview Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by the service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Circle of Life Hospice or Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs, AR.
