Rick Ramirez

Rick Ramirez, 69, of Springdale, passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 8th, 1956, in Big Spring, Texas, to Lorenzo and Refugia Ramirez. Rick worked for APAC for 46 years, dedicating nearly his entire career to the company before retiring a few years ago. He embraced retirement fully and joyfully. His greatest love in life was his family—especially his grandkids, who affectionately called him “Poo Poo,” a name that stuck when one of them couldn’t say Papaw. He proudly attended countless football games, band concerts, soccer games, dance recitals, and volleyball matches, always cheering from the stands. His family often joked they could fill a book with the memories, adventures, and humorous predicaments he found himself in over the years. Rick was incredibly loved and will be deeply missed. Rick enjoyed watching Razorback football and loved playfully teasing anyone who rooted for the “Dallas Crapboys.” He loved being outdoors and spent much of his time raising cattle, chickens, and goats. He took pride in keeping his yard perfectly mowed. At home, he was fond of old westerns—Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show being two of his favorites. He also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and reading the Madison County Record. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Yuca Knapton; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Knapton and Pat Beeler; and his brother, Roger Ramirez. He is survived by his daughter, Meranda; his son, Jesse, and wife Amy; and his five grandchildren: Kyler (Rebecca), Kenya, and Chance Ramirez, and Jack and Ella Bowlin. He is also survived by six brothers—Cato (Shirley), J.R. (Tracy), Roland (Betty), Abel (Marcia), Gilbert (Jana), and Joe Ramirez—and five sisters: Tina Beeler, Thelma Thompson (Frank), Annie Burger (David), Becky Varner (Larry), and Mary Miller (Mark). Rick leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26th, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal service will be held.
