Vickie Sue Lindley

Vickie Sue Lindley, 74, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away on July 21, 2026, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born October 31, 1951, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Victor Junior Jones and Mabel Rice Triska. Vickie married Gary G. Lindley on August 1, 1970. They shared nearly 56 years together, building a life filled with love, family, and treasured memories. Gary was not only her devoted husband but also her lifelong soulmate. Those who knew Vicki knew they had met someone truly extraordinary. She lived a life defined by love, kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to the people she cherished. She had a vibrant spirit, a beautiful smile, and a heart that always put others before herself. Caring for others wasn't simply something she did—it was who she was. Whether family, friends, or even strangers, Vicki had an incredible gift for making people feel heard, loved, and valued. She listened without judgment, welcomed everyone with an open heart, and had a special way of bringing comfort to those who needed it most. A proud graduate of Greenland High School, Vicki was a spirited cheerleader whose enthusiasm for life never faded. She carried that same energy into adulthood, always cheering on those she loved. She was the loudest supporter at football games, basketball courts, soccer fields, and every other activity her children participated in. She could often be found running up and down the sidelines, encouraging them to never give up, even when they wanted to give up on themselves. She was their greatest champion and constant source of strength. Vicki was adventurous, spontaneous, and embraced life with joy. She loved dancing and was exceptionally good at it. Some of her happiest memories were dancing with her beloved husband, Gary, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. Together they built a beautiful marriage that spanned 56 wonderful years, beginning with their wedding in 1970. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment, friendship, and unconditional love, a bond that remained unbreakable through every season of life. She enjoyed watching Gary drag race, loved water skiing, golf, family trips to Silver Dollar City and White Water, and treasured every opportunity to make memories with those she loved. She also had a creative heart and found great joy in cross-stitching, knitting, arranging beautiful flowers, and making everything around her a little brighter. Faith and family were the foundation of Vicki's life. She was active in church throughout her childhood and continued to live out those values of love, generosity, and service throughout her life. She was involved in her children's schools and always made family her highest priority. No matter how busy life became, the family gathered around the dinner table every evening—a tradition she believed kept hearts connected. Perhaps no one brought a bigger smile to her face than her grandson, Logan Hammond. Whether they were playing Super Mario together, spending time in Branson, visiting at home, or simply being together, Vicki treasured every moment with him. Spoiling Logan came naturally, but more importantly, she filled his life with unconditional love, laughter, and memories that will remain in his heart forever. Above all else, Vicki loved deeply. She loved her family, her friends, and the life they built together. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, selflessness, faith, strength, and unconditional love. Her kindness touched countless lives, and the lessons she taught through her example will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing she is finally free from pain, breathing with ease, and forever watching over those she loved. Her love will remain the wind beneath our wings, guiding us until we meet again. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lindley, lovingly known as Uncle Mike; her parents, Mabel Rice Triska and Victor Junior Jones; her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Viola Rice; her brother, Larry Jones, and his wife, Denise; her nephews, William Jones, Junior Jones, and Steve Lindley; and her mother- and fathers-in-law, Frances Ann Dorsa, Joe Dorsa, and Grover Lindley. She was also preceded in death by her mother’s brothers and sisters, Gladice, C.J., Wanda, Mabel, Betty, JoAnn, Sue, and Fred, as well as other beloved members of the Rice, Jones, Lindley, and Ford families. Vickie is survived by her husband, Gary G. Lindley; her daughter, Robyn Lindley; her grandson, Logan Hammond, affectionately known as “Loggiebear”; her nephew, Jessie Jones; her brother-in-law, Steve Lindley, and his wife, Vicky; her niece, Lindsey Lindley Taylor, and her husband, Joel, and their three children; her sister-in-law, Kimberly Ann Lindley Whitfield, and her husband, Bob; Shelby Salazar Whitfield; and many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory. Vickie’s family was the center of her life. She will be remembered for the love she shared, the relationships she treasured, and the lasting place she holds in the hearts of those who knew her. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 5:30 to 9:30 at Sassafras Springs Vineyard Winery Production Hall, 6461 East Guy Terry Road, Springdale, Arkansas.
